Howsons is a diverse general practice with offices in Stoke-on-Trent, Leek, Uttoxeter, Newport, Market Drayton and Alsager. The firm has six partners and some 60 staff.

Established in the 1920's by Clem Howson, a former Collector of Taxes, when farmers moved from being taxed under Schedule B (based on the value of their land) to Schedule D (based on their profits). Clem's foresight in spotting a new opening in the market - the need for farmers to prepare accounts to determine their tax liabilities- on which he built his practice, persists today.

Within the guise of general practice, our partners and senior staff specialise in areas of professional practice that offer mutual support and give the firm "strength in depth".
